#650 bike bits

I gave my track bike a birthday:
It’s got a new pair of Tufo Tubular Tyres,
a new pair of MKS GR-9 Platform Pedals
and a new pair of Classic Handlebars.
All in pairs . . . .

#594 Chain

I've been using a chain link extractor to take chains on and off bikes for . . . . more than 55 years!
Not a bad average - first broken chain ever.
Luckily only had to walk a couple of K back home.

#561 eBay

Bought in 1987 and for sale in 2013. My very old Campagnolo Delta brakes are now under the hammer on eBay.  Sold €177.

Bought a year later in 1988 my Jean Paul Gaultier suit is also up for bidding. Reserved at US$50 it's a bit of a long shot, but still . . . .

A few years ago I sold a Campagnolo Disc back wheel on eBay for US$710 it was a very rare and sort after item and luckily for me two bidders went head to head for it - which was nice :-)

#559 I've got a New Bike.

I've got a new bike, it's for riding up and down the beach.
It's got 4" tyres and quite heavy at nearly 16kg,
but our beach is flat so shouldn't be too much of a problem.

On-One Fatty.

#471 Look - Single Speed!

I've built a bike from bits from my spares box - except for the second-hand pedals for which I paid Cicles Extrem 1€. They wanted to give them to me for nothing but I insisted on paying (they are a shop after all).

#434 Leather Tape mmmm.

55€ for handle bar tape?

Yes, it's true but I'm hoping that it will last a good few years and prove cheaper than fitting new cloth tape each season (and it's made by Brooks of England :-)

*Late News* My box of bar tape arrived missing one of the two cork bar end plugs. Sent a mail to ChainReaction, they said "no problem, we will send you the missing bar end plug". I eventually received a complete new box of tape and bar ends. I imagine it was more economical to send a replacement than to actually go through the hassle of contacting Brooks, finding a new plug, having them send it off, then re-posting to Spain. But, to be honest, I don't need another set of leather tape. Pues nada.
