#536 Hail

We left Denia with the air conditioning on but two hours later on the way to Zarragoza we ran into an amazing hailstorm that virtually stopped the traffic on the autopista. We crept along with the heater keeping us warm. Half an hour later back into the sunshine and back on with the AC.

#535 Mini Immersion Heater

Over the last few years on my cycle rides through France I have noticed, with some displeasure, that the quality of coffee served at breakfast in French hotels has fallen from mediocre to undrinkably low.

So low in fact that I am now going to take control of the situation, I'm going to secretly brew my own extra strength double-double espresso in my room. Armed with this mini immersion heater found in a Marrakesh electrical appliance shop for a mere 50dhr / 4,5€ (so inexpensive that I didn't even haggle) I will be setting up as my very own Barista.

The way to Riad Al Ksar is down this alley.
where we served very sweet mint tea on check-in
and dropped bags in bedroom
then out to eat at Cafe de France (so so).

#531 Eroicas

New big fat Challenge Eroica tyres on my touring bike. 30mm wide, comfy and just the job for venturing along Vias Verdes, circulating Slovenia or dodging down beside the Danube.
